1)Content Marketing & SEO: I started an entertainment blog about 10 years ago and got monetized by Google adsense within 2 months. Now the next task was looking for how to drive traffic.
             
                         More traffic = more AdSense earnings.

So I started learning about SEO and content marketing. I learnt how to do keyword research, how to write a blog effectively without overstuffing it with keywords etc

I also learnt how to use the information on my analytics to improve the traffic to my blog. I learnt other SEO strategies that helped me. 

Results from SEO usually take months, so this took a lot of diligence and it was very rewarding. In few months, my organic traffic skyrocketed and so did my AdSence earnings.

2)Social Media: When I first started blogging, I had no budget to spend on driving traffic to my blog.

While I had already started SEO and content marketing, it usually takes months for SEO to start yielding results.

So, I had to look for another way to start driving lots of traffic, FAST, CHEAP & MASSIVE traffic and FACEBOOK did the trick!

I started a facebook group to blog about, "Big Brother" a very popular reality tv show with a lot of fans.

So, I will write a post about what was happening in the reality show, share the link in the group and a lot of people will click it and flock to my blog to read the news. 

I started getting 1,000 people, 5k, 10k, 20k, 100k per day.

Social media is very powerful and you will be learning how to leverage it especially because starting and growing your social media platforms can be very daunting

3)Link Building:

Link building is also one very effective strategy in driving buyer traffic to your website.

High amount of backlinks = increase in website traffic

The presence of a good amount of backlinks to your website is one very big factor that Google considers when ranking blog posts. 

Now, not all backlinks are reward by Google. Some are penalized if the backlinks are from shady crapy websites.

So, I had to learn how to build my backlinks in the right way, from authority sites and this eanded up increasing my domain rank

4)Guest Blogging:

I have to be very honest here. When I started my blog, even though I already knew about guest blogging, I never took it seriously. Yes! it increases your backlinks! but I just didn't take it seriously until I stumbled on the "wonders of guest blogging" by chance. 

The company I was working for (I also had a day job when I first started blogging) had just released a new product and wanted to do a press conference to advertise it. I was put in charge of writing the press and distributing it.

By the end of the week, our blog had a lot of views, and we had receives a lot of emails and calls concerning the product and to crown it all up, we made a huge amount of sales, all in 1 week! 

Press release is a form of guest blogging.

I was so blown by this result that I started working on getting people from authority sites to allow me write a blog post on their websites and link to mine.

It wasn't easy at first because as you might have already known, it's difficult to get people to allow you write a guest post on their blog.

5)Email Marketing:

Now, out of every strategy listed here, email marketing is one strategy I regret most because I did not take it seriously from the get-go.

Remember I told you about my almost immediate success with Facebook. Well, guess what! I had started the facebook group while the "big brother" reality show was airing. I had a lot of pageviews, even up to 100k per day!

Then, the show ended and as you know, the interest in the show started declining until it was almost non-excistent.

Then I started regretting not taking their email addresses.

Can you imagine having approximately 100k people visit you daily but having no way to reach them part from that facebook group?

I was very painful and you won't have to make that painful mistake with the help of this book.
